Salsa ("the app," "we," "our") is a household app for tracking shared expenses, managing a shared grocery list, and practicing Spanish together. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it's used.

What we collect

Account information

your email address and basic profile info used to sign in.

Expense data you enter

amounts, categories, notes, and photos of receipts you choose to upload.

Grocery list data

items you or household members add to shared lists.

Gmail data (only if you connect it)

if you choose to connect your Gmail account, the app requests read-only access solely to identify grocery store weekly-deals emails and extract sale information from them. We do not read, store, or use any other email content, and we never send or modify email on your behalf.

How we use it

Information is used only to provide the app's features to you and the household members you invite — for example, syncing your expense log and grocery list in real time, or displaying store deals. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Sharing

Data you add is visible to the other member(s) of your household within the app. We do not share your data with third parties except service providers necessary to run the app (such as our hosting and database provider), and only as needed to operate the service.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete individual entries at any time within the app. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the information below.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including access controls and encrypted storage where supported by our infrastructure provider. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "last updated" date above.
